T1 / E1 Automatic Protection Switchin (APS)

Orion Telecom Networks Inc. offers 4 Port E1 Protection (Failover) Switch allows the user to connect upto four E1 lines from the telephone company to "active", as well as to "standby" E1 terminal(s), such as data server(s), routers etc. at the customer premises. VCL-SafeComm, 8 T1 Links (24 T1 Ports), 1+1 Automatic Protection Switching (APS) Equipment may be used to protect upto 8 T1 Links (24 T1 Ports), point-to-point links and provide an alternate communication route to each T1 Link between any two T1 points.

APS (1+1) Automatic Protection Switching

Orion's MegaConnect-Jr. APS E1 redundancy switch (each E1 Switch card) supports one E1 link, and upto 16, E1 links can be supported by a "pair" of E1 Protection Switching Systems. Two E1 Protection Switching Systems are required (one at each end of the link) for implementation of 1+1 redundancy solution. Data Sheet (PDF)
